This is quite possibly a more HTMLy question than it is an Applety question but I'll try it here anyway.

I have a page with a HTML menubar at the top and beneath that an applet that I wish to fill up all the remaining space. I set the height of the applet <Object> in the HTML to be 100% and it all looks fine until the scrollbar within the applet appears and you can't see the bottom of it.

The reason for this is the applet is setting its size to the same as that of the WHOLE page so the overall HTML page is the size of the current window + the header height.

any simple html workaround or a not-too-hacky java one?
