I am not an expert when it comes to applets. My friend recently passed away, and I want to finish his work. He was building a game for fun. The applet makes a socket connection to a server. The applet sends a "POST" message, and then the server will send data to the applet to keep the applet up to date.

It works, but I'm using internet explorer, and when I do "refresh", the socket seems to still be connected and isn't dropped. I would prefer the page to start over fresh when there is a refresh. I think my friend never tried this.

What do I need to do to get the behavior I want?
