The default menu of an Applet (when it loads) has a Save option.
It saves the Applet in a .ser format.
Can this .ser format file be used anyway? It can not be opened with appletviewer.exe.

What default menu are you talking about? Are you perhaps using some IDE or other tool that builds this default menu? I've written a few applets before and have never seen the behavior you describe here. Perhaps you can clarify by describing how you created this applet. Some code snippets will help, too.

I am just talking about the menu "Applet" which comes automatically at the top left corner of java applet window when it is loaded by using appletviewer.exe.
It has menuitems like- Restart, Reload,Save etc.
Can anyone tell me how can we use the file saved in a .ser format by this appletviewer.
