Hi,

I'm really confused.. And I feel the procedure for booking exam is not clear...

This is what I did...

1. I read the FAQ (at both JavaRanch and Sun.com) and went to page https://id.sun.com/training

2. Then went to page of exam 310-055 and clicked on "order certification"

3. Filled some registration information and finally landed to order confirmation page..

After that I've received even mail at my mail id

All this happened a week back...

After this I didn't receive any other confirmation mail..

Two days back, I even a sent mail to Edu_Enquiry_IN@sun.com asking about further steps.. But no luck/reply..

Can any one tell me.. what should I do so that I can take exam on 7th Aug, 2006.

Thanks in Advance

As far as I can see, you have ordered your voucher. When you have paid for and received your voucher you can book your exam. These things take time, especially when large corporations are concerned.

In my case, I have ordered a voucher over a week ago, I have today received the bill, I must pay it (I pay my bills once at end of the month) then Sun needs to react and send voucher (3 to 4 days), post delay (2 days), then I must book through Prometric, and so on. So the weeks go by...

I reside in India.

My friend suggested me to take help of private institute like NIIT to take such exams.

Is it (voucher) something that we receive by post (or email)?

Here in Switzerland, it is a physical piece of paper. I will have to present it at the test centre when I attend the examination I have previously booked via Prometric.

I have bought the Voucher from a SUN dealer.. Now my question is...

How many days in advance do we need to register and book the date for exam?

I need to know this... As I still have to start taking mocks (to check whether I'm ready or not), and I need to apply leave in my office in advance?

To make it clear, If I want to take exam on Aug 17th.. then Can I register/book the data on Aug 14th?

Thanks in Advance

After much muddling about with looking at Prometric's website and then Sun's, I ordered an paid for my voucher using a credit card - got an email with voucher number as N/A and expiry as N/A. I thought myabe I was supposed to wait for a paper voucher - nothing happened. I contacted Sun and they said there was a problem reigistering my name and I couldn't use the website so I had to phone. Phoned and got sent an email with the exam voucher number which I used to book my exam. I haven't been sent anything in the mail yet. I'm in UK.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
