I have a book A Programmer's Guide to Java Certification in my hand. It's for platform 1.4. But I want to prepare for SCJP1.5. I know there are some differences between them. But to purchase a new book for 1.5 is expensive to me. What I want to do is read this book. And read some articles on iternet for new features added by 1.5.

Anyone has the same experience like me? Or you have some better suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

It is possible.

But you need to be very careful of the certification objectives and use extra materials to cover thos objectives new to SCJP5, such as Generics

I think it is not good idea to prepare SCJP1.4 book and write exam in SCJP1.5
lot of things have been changed. I think it is difficult to get good score if you study SCJP1.4 book .
