I wrote an Applet, when I start it using appletviewer, it works, but when I open the html file using IE, nothing appears (there's not even exceptions in the Java console), it's just a gray board, and in the bottom bar it said: applet started.
why ???

BTW, I changed the code="" in the html from only name.class to ./name.class, both does not work

Try using the class name instead of the filename, i.e. code="name".

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
