about reading config file

I wrote an applet that would get configs from file,so I package the config file with the Applet classes into one jar,but the Applet can not find the file ,What can I do?
The Applet has already signed.

You can't access them like they are files on the local file system - you need to use getResourceAsStream, or a similar method. Here's some more info.
