Diverse interests here, coupled with serious tech knowledge and experience. It would make me very content to use both the tech skills and one or some of the 'soft' interests in making a living. The latter include German language skill (German Certificate from the Goethe-Institut) and interest in languages in general, a minor in and a keen interest in history; also into SCUBA (PADI-certified), maps and mapping, genealogy, Japanese culture, shortwave radio, space exploration.

The technical lowdown in brief: Five and one-half years' experience in the administration of Sun Solaris systems and networks. Experience implementing and supporting Internet-facing servers and other applications on Sun hardware running Solaris, most notably a busy J2EE (Java) web banking app. Sun Microsystems system- and network-certified in Solaris 7 and 8. Three years' Perl programming on the job.

Main career goal now is to grow my career in the direction of software development.
