Hi !

To use an applet on my website i need to include the applet tag. Thus anyone who sees the source of my webpage can get access to the URL of the class file. Once downloaded any Decompiler(like DJ Java Decompiler) can be used to get the Java source.

Can anyone suggest a way in which i can Make the class file such that its source cannot be obtained by decompiling.

I DONOT WISH TO USE ANY HTML TRICKS TO HIDE THE URL OF MY CLASS FILE...!!

Check the Applets FAQ -which is linked in my signature- for some hints on what you can do.

Question:

Why do you want to keep others from decompiling your applet?

I thought of one way, but have not yet started. It requires adding modules to the web server. The web server could check the http requests. This is the long way around it, but if it is really important, I think it is a winner. Let me know if you are going to try this route. I'm interested.

Obfuscation is the only way to protect your applet.
