Hi

In my web application I have signed applets. However, by any chance if Java is not installed in the client machine, the applet does not load, and also wont give any indication to the suer also..

What I want to do is, inform the user if they havent installed Java and if possible direct the user to the sun site to download Java.
And, if they have already installed java, then run the applet as normal.

Thanks for any feedback
Mahen

The simplest thing you can do is include text inside the <applet></applet> tag. The text is ignored if a JVM is present, and displayed if it's not.

But beyond that, there's a whole complex, browser-specific system for telling the user to go get the Java Plugin: see here for more info.
