Just to update this blog I passed the Exam September 2006 last year! I got a high score too! These simulators do their job perfectly.

Wow, these simulators are really fun to use. Purchasing anyone of them
is guaranteed satisfaction. I purchased both of them.

I just purchased my copy of Whizlabs SCJP 5.0 which was only 29.98
dollars. What a great discount. I suggest you guys buy it also.

Thanks Seema, I guess that doesn't qualify me to win anymore coz
I purchased it, duh. Once i finished installing it all the features
were readily available I'm so happy with it.

I also purchased Enthuware JQPlus for 35 dollars. I'm really satisfied
with Enthuware also. Thanks Enthuware, I love your product JQPlus v5.0+

My satisfaction level for both of them are the same. I'm just happy
i own each one already and have dozens of mock exam questions to
practise on. Aside from the free ones.

Well, there goes my lunch allowance for two weeks. It's the lunch box
moves for me.

Note: Whizlabs and Enthuware did not pay me anything for my
testimonial. I just wanted to express my satisfaction
and happiness by owning these gems. Feels good to own
geniune stuff.

No offense to anyone, but it's just a matter of personal beliefs. What's
important is, are you happy about it? I'm happy I bought it. It made
me feel good.

It's not about Indians. It's a person to person basis. I could have borrowed the simulator from a friend but i changed my mind thinking it maybe bad luck. Nationality doesn't bother me since I believe we are one single java
community who are helping each other achieve our goals.

Do you feel like these simulators will prepare you better than the two that come with the SCJP book? The SCJP ones also seem to have hundreds of questions, but I'm disappointed with the format since the screen cannot be maximized. I'd really like to know if the actual exam uses the whole screen or not.

AFAIK, Yes... The actual exam will be in Full Screen and you will not even have access to desktop

Yes, I think it will help, but I guess that depends on whether I pass
or not,so I put my faith on other people's experiences. According to them,
it helped them formulate a strategy on where to focus more on.

Although, the simulators will not provide the actual answers in the exam.
By using it, you will find areas you need to improve more on by making the mistakes.

This allows you to formulate your strategy on how to tackle most the
difficult exams questions.

I guess it also depends on the quality of your studying.

The simulators helped lessen my nervousness. Couple of days ago I was
a nervous wreck. Atleast, now I'm knowing where I need to focus on. I don't
expect to score high just to pass. I feel i'm not that gifted compared
to others.

I downloaded both trial versions, but couldn't seem to get the enthuware one to work. The wizlabs works, but it's only a testing format and doesn't help you with hints or tell why the answer is wrong. I'd like to find some test software that is more than just a mock test. I'd like to get feedback, be able to quickly check my answer without having to do the whole exam, and also automatically be retested on problems I've missed. Is there anything like that available?

This is based on what I have explored so far.

1. I'd like to find some test software that is more than just a mock test.
-->Both the Whizlabs and Enthuware explains very well the answers for FULL
version. Haven't really explored the trial ones.

2. The wizlabs works, but it's only a testing format and doesn't help you with hints or tell why the answer is wrong.

-- You should ask Seema about this. https://coderanch.com/t/257874/java-programmer-SCJP/certification/Welcome-Seema-Manivannan

3. I downloaded both trial versions, but couldn't seem to get
the enthuware one to work.
-->As for enthuware, you need to download the ETSViewer. Then download
the jqpv5_trial.ets from Enthuware. Use ETSViewer to open the file.

4. I'd like to get feedback, be able to quickly check my answer without having to do the whole exam, and also automatically be retested on problems I've missed.

Both Enthuware and Whizlabs offers this feature that's why i'm so happy.

There is also www.examulator.com which you can access readily.

Why not buy them bought to lessen your worries?

Robbi, thanks for the feedback.Great to know that you found our PrepKit useful.
Dave, our PrepKit does provide detailed explanations for the correct and incorrect choices. However, if you want to view them after each question, you will need to finish the test, view the feedback for the question and restart the test again. We do not provide any hints while you are taking the test, because we have tried to simulate the actual test taking environment.

Thanks,

Hey Seema. Youre the Man!!! Who knows how many people you've helped get certified and got better paying jobs because of your simulator. Even those who didn't pay (ie. no money), turned you into a philanthropist, you'll definitely receive lots of blessings from God for that.

You're definitely one of the best guys in this planet. I'm very happy
with your product. Keep up the excellent work. Thanks also for the discount! You're the best!

Yeah, unfortunately that is my complaint about this software, I think it would be better if it offered the user the choice of getting 1. a hint, 2. a detailed description of the correct and incorrect answer after each question. 3. some way to track my progress, save that information, and retest me on areas I'm doing poorly on automatically. What I'm looking for is more of a study tool than a mock exam.

The SCJP cds do offer some of these features, but it is not full screen, which makes it really hard to work with.

As far as the other simulator, I did download the extra component and got the program to open. But at least the trial version is not intuitive and only let's me look at the software. I haven't figured out how to take a test using the trial version

Hi Seema, I agree with Dave. We need kind of "Adaptive" exam for studying, say that gradually show from simple to complex questions. That way we know for sure our level of understanding of one objective/area.

Does Whizlab support this? or is there any product like this?

thanks
anthony

Yes, we do support Adaptive testing.
We also have the provision to go through the questions that you have answered incorrectly in the previous exams. This is in the learning mode.

Thanks,

Hi Dave,

Thank you for trying out our s/w. You need to right click on the "Sample Test" and select "Take this Test". We are working to make it more intuitive. Please do let us know if you feel the need for any other feature.

thanks,
Paul.

Hi Robbi, have you passed the exam?

just want to know how effective/useful the products?

If I have to decide/buy one, which one do you recommend over another in term of how the author formulated the questions ?

thanks
anthony

Hi Anthony, I haven't passed the exam yet, but atleast I am able to
identify the areas i need improvement on. Also, most of the people
who obtained grades of 90+, used these simulators to help them.
They also guarantee you a passing grade.

In terms of the features you want. You may download the trial versions
for each of them. This way, you would get first hand shopping experience
of what you like or not.

For Enthuware JQPlus 5 the link is http://www.enthuware.com/jqplus/index.html
For Whizlabs SCJP 5.0 http://www.whizlabs.com/scjp/scjp-5.0-details.html

Check it out.

For me I love them both. Both simulators are a sure win. Either one
of them is a bang for your buck.

Can I still buy it for this price, the web site says it's $60?
