Maximising the appletviewer only does any good if the applet is that big, so why don't you specify a big width and height in the applet tag?

Hey man,
so you are using an applet viewer? or an html page?
if you can use an html page, this can be easily done using javascript..
if you need the script, i can provide it
Best,
Mohammad
