how to refresh an applet embedded in a HTML page

hi,
please give some suggestion on this... I want to refresh an applet(i have drawn some lines and rectangle on that applet) embedded in Html page after some duration...Please give some idea how to implement that....one way is timer but i dont know how to implement that....please give some sample codes....

Welcome to JavaRanch.

When do you want to redraw - after a certain period of time, or after some user action? If the former, then you can create and start a new thread, let it sleep for the time you want to let pass, and after that redraw and redisplay the screen. Once that's done you can exit the trhead, or loop to let it sleep/redraw again.
