Hi,

Is head first java Second edition(1.5) enough if one wants to start off learning Java 1.4

it sounds a case of backward compatiblity...

Yes, but dont be surprised if you accidentally become a 1.5 guru instead of 1.4.

The first edition is out of print.

I want to get on with 1.4 before moving onto 1.5 because at the workplace they use 1.4 ..
