Guys...

can anyone help me understand what forward referncing means and the general rules to remember abt them...
Im having a tough time going through those questions


ex:
public class P
{
static int x=callThis();
static int y=8;

static int callThis()
{
return y;
}
}

I thought there would be a compiler error stating a forward referencing of variable y...but there are no errors in the code...
Pls help..
