URLConnection or SOAP

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Need some advice.

I have a applet communicating with some servlets by sending java objects with URLConnection.

My question is should I use SOAP for this instead or should I continue sending javaobjects over URLConnection?

Well, why are you considering changing a functioning system? Does SOAP provide features you can't get with serialization?

It would have the advantage of allowing to use something other than a Java backend. That may or may not be an advantage.

Ok thanks!

I'm using hibernate annotations for my dto's and I thought that I just could serialize thoose to the applet but it seems like the hibernate3.jar must be in the applet classpath. So I'm thinking of switching technique.
