Hello,

I need to make an applet to display the USB-camera images through a computer network.
Can somebody tell me how to make it. A sample-code would be great for me to learn.

Thank you so much beforehand.

The Java IO FAQ has a couple of links about the subject of accessing USB devices. I'm not sure if that includes cameras, though.

The Java Media Framework can access a camera. Of course, you have to set up JMF on the client first, plus enable camera capture (it's a security risk to allow untrusted apps access to the camera).
I don't think the JMF has been updated in quite a while, so you may want to do some research before diving in.

Thank you for your reply.

Actually, I ran Java under Linux (Fedora). Is above tutorial is applicable on Linux as well?

Thank you so much.
