Hello all. I have problems with calling js methods in an aplet. I have a menu applet that has buttons. Each button leads a url.
Urls called like

and openInNewWindow(myAction) just calls window.open() js method with some params.

And i have limitations of using ie6 and jre 1.4.2_03.
Now, my problem is this. Urls given like first one works normally but second type of urls don't. Actually they do work on ie6,jre 1.5 or firefox,1.4 combo, just not with ie6,jre 1.4
It seems like everthing works fine, no exceptions thrown, but javascript method is never called (tried put alert() not fired ). I googled alot, tried different things, none worked.
Any advices, heads up is welcome. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to JavaRanch.

The "javascript:" URL notation is something that browsers use; I'm not surprised that applets don't (fully) support it. You could use LiveConnect to call the JavaScript function directly.

Thanks for the tip. I made some search and changed code accordingly to use LiveConnect. It's working now.
