Please always mention the source of any mock exam question you post.

1. It is polite and professional to do so.
2. It helps other people to find the mock exam.
3. It helps you if other people can check that you have interpreted the question in the same way as the author intended.

Because not many people are doing this recently, we will have to consider closing those topics without properly quoted sources.

Please be aware that "some mock" is not an acceptable reference.
Thanks.
-Barry

One more reminder. Closing topics without appropriate references is becoming a serious option.

Now starting to close topics that do not reference the source of mock exam questions. Send me a PM if you wish your question to be reopened for correction. Thanks

I'd like to support Barry in this initiative. It's helpful to remember that everyone at JavaRanch is a volunteer. Recently, I've seen a lot of time wasted debating mock questions that were incorrectly reproduced. We welcome, and in fact encourage you all to post and discuss mock exam questions, but please, please credit the source and be careful in the reproduction.

Some posters are once again neglecting this issue, so yet another reminder.

Will start locking topics with no reference to source of mock exam questions.

I remember sometime back i had posted a question which was from a software application which provides mock tests and then i was advised NOT to post questions from such sources (from what i understand it was because one has to pay for them).

Could you please let us know what should be done in such scenarios or I am missing on something?

Thank you.

One scenario is if the copyright forbids publishing a question: Eg Sun's Mock SCJP exams.
Another scenario is if the question comes from a braindump (a list of real questions). (This is also covered by point 1) Sometimes it may not be 100% clear to the poster that what they have obtained is such a braindump - but there is a good chance that we know.
