Welcome to JavaRanch!

Ultimately, you are the one who needs to do the learning, so what you get out of this site (or any other resource) depends on you. But when it comes to getting help with specific Java questions or problems, I think JavaRanch is the best resource available.

Have you installed Java on your machine? Have you run a "Hello World" program? Do you have an introductory book?

This forum is for the SCJP exam. I see that you have also posted a similar question in the Beginners forum, where it is more appropriate.

Please continue this discussion there.
