Hi

Without any knowledge of java..If i work with this book...Is that Enough to crack the exam?

SCJP Sun Certified Programmer for Java 5 Study Guide by Katherine Sierra and Bert Bates (K&B)

Hi Rahul,

Welcome to JavaRanch,

To start Kathy&Bates book, you should have fundamental knowledge of Java.
Specially as I see and also mentioned in the book that it is designed targeting SCJP aspirants. It is not beginners book. Better go through any good start Java programming and then concentrate on K&B which prepares you for the exam in excellent manner;


Ask a huge mob behind K&B book, how magically the book has been written.

Well... if you have no knowledge of Java at all I don't think it's a good start point.

Even the authors of the book said you must have a basic knowledge of the language because the book dives directy in the details of the language without givin you any broader view...

In my opinion you could start with the free java tutorial on Sun's site and when you're done you can pass on to the K&B.
