Any intanceof check using Foo[] gives a compile error: .class expected.

Heres my code:

Am I missing the point?

Hi Richard,

I think you must specify the lefthand operator more specific:
--> if ( f[0] instanceof Foo ) ;
--> if ( f instanceof Object) System.out.println("Object");

Good luck.

Ok, ok. So what the table is saying is that a Foo array object (Foo[]) IS-A Object, but fails the IS-A test for Foo, Bar, or Face? And a Foo array element (Foo[1]) IS-A Foo, Bar, Face and Object since thats what the Foo array can hold?

Excuse me while I turn my face. Im feeling a little foo. I think Im going to bar.

I think you have it. an array of XYZ objects is NOT an XYZ object.

the objects IN the array ARE of that type.

all arrays are Objects (note capital 'O').
