I took one of the whizlabs exams today and passed. Which is good news considering i'm planning on taking the exam May 17th.

One question I got wrong today was not covered in the K&B Study guide. When I read the "exam objective" I interpret the following question as being valid however the "Key Methods" in the study guide do not list it as "something to study" (p.436 Table 6-1)

The Drag and Drop question was "Test whether the application can read the file" which was "canRead()"

So my question here is if the File.canRead() method is on the exam? The objective states that you can use the File object but they dont mention it (this method) in the K&B Book.

Is this just a loose interpretation of the exam objective on Whizlabs part or should I memorize the ENTIRE set of IO classes?

Trust K&B, they cover all you need to know.
But don't be afraid to look into the javadocs either to learn some extra stuff (although you probably have other things on your mind right now )

regards,
Mark

Thanks Mark, I was hoping someone would tell me that.

I found another problem with the whizlabs test too. There were questions on the replace methods in the scanner class. The K&B Book flat out says that they are not on the exam.

Whizlabs isnt bad but it's good to know that I'm pointing out things in their exam that just are not accurate to the test.

No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better. This time, do it with this tiny ad:
