Hi,

are there possibilities to use like Perl and CGI the Groovy language for web application?

Hi,

yes, the Groovy equivalent is either using Groovlets or the respective templating engines.
The ease and simplicity of CGI with the structure, power and scalability of Servlets :-) You'll find it at the end of chapter 9.

Of course, if you walk the Grails path, you get even more: simplicity of PHP and the like on J2EE. See chapter 16.
