Hello Ranchers!

Pls suggest some good reading material for Threads. I am not clear with Synchronisation, Thread interactions and literally fail when try to attempt questions pertaining to Threads.

Where I lag behind is that I actually cannot visualise the flow of execution when threads are used.

This objective(Threads) is making me loose confidence needed for writing SCJP 1.4.

Thanks in advance!

Hi neha,
I think K&B book os good for threads!!!
Do one thing, try to write simple programmes in threads. that will build confidence in you. write in each concept right from the begining.
hope that helps.
read that chapter 3-4 times. each time, you understands it better than the previous.
All the best!!!

Hi Neha,

K & B book itself would be enough and good. As krishna said, why dont you just read the chapters again and soon after you are done with the concept execute some small programs?

That way you can definitely gain the confidence!!

Good luck.

I read 'Thread Interactions'-Topic twice from K&B but could not get it nicely. I understand it theoretically..but when I work with some problems I am not able to solve them.As i told earlier, am not able to visualise the flow of execution.

Anyways thanks for your inputs. Will re-read..

Neha
