What literal value I can assign to Thread Reference???

Thread t = ? ( what literal value could possibly go here)

Please state your question a bit more clearly, for instance what assigment number are you talking about? What page number, etc. In my copy of K&B I couldn't find a reference to Thread in chapter 3.

By Kethy and Bart I assume you mean Kathy and Bert
And by lateral I assume you mean literal. Well, null is a literal that can be assigned to any Object reference. So Thread t = null; would work.
