can anybody explain me when this method returns true ?
with an example

but still i am confused about the Thread.interrupted() the method
I just want an example in which this method returns true.

please help me.......

Dear Manfred Klug ,
Thanks for the reply.

Now i have just modified your programme and added a sleep method in the
MyRunnable class. Now when the myThread goes to sleep the main thread
interrupts it and at that time myThread throws an interupted exception
but at that time Thread.interrupted() method does not return it to true.

why???

It looks like you need to read the API for Thread.interrupted() again.

Dear Barry Gaunt,

InterruptedException - if another thread has interrupted the current thread. The interrupted status of the current thread is cleared when this exception is thrown.

I think this would be the reason for the returning flag false

please reply.

Yes, and the reason why I have used the loop.
