Are you asking about the return types of the methods contains(...), retainAll(...), removeAll(...) etc. of interface java.util.Collection?

The Java API documentation ofcourse explains what the return types of those methods are and what the return values mean. Please lookup interface java.util.Collection in the API documentation.
