Doubt on Enums

Hi,
I don't understand the below code which is from JavaBeat MockExam.

public enum IceCream {
 VANILLA ("white"),
 STAWBERRY ("pink"),
 WALNUT ("brown"),
                CHOCOLATE ("dark brown");
 
                String color;
 
 IceCream (String color) {
 this.color = color;
 }
 
 public static void main (String[] args) {
 System.out.println (VANILLA);
 System.out.println (CHOCOLATE); }
 }
}

I expected the output is Compilation error: cannot run enum as a standalone application. When i complied the program i got compiler error as class or interface expected.
But the answer in the javabeat is
No errors. Output:
VANILLA
CHOCOLATE
Is this correct?

This program should compile and run correctly for your version. Are you sure you don't have a Java 1.4 installed somewhere?
