Hello everyone,
in my Java Mail program, I want to send mail from my yahoo account but when i give the host name as mail.yahoo.com, it says
"could not connect to SMTP Host: mail.yahoo.com".
What i should give for the host string?
Please enlighten me about this host string.

Thanks in advance
Indira.

I don't think it will be possible for you to use yahoo as the host.
You need to use a SMTP host that you can access.

The SMTP server for Yahoo is smtp.mail.yahoo.com and the POP3 server (for receiving messages) is pop.mail.yahoo.com

Hi indira,
you can use the smtp host of vsnl... which is smtp.vsnl.com
I have been successfully able to use this host for my mailing purpose....
you can use the mail demo programs to check it out.
Thanks
Jos xavier
