const is keyword?

Hi All,
How can we use const keyword in a java pgm?I thought it is keyword used to declare constant variable.So I used it like const int i=10;But it is showing errors.Can anyone clarify this?Thanks.

See JLS - 3.9 Keywords...

The keywords const and goto are reserved, even though they are not currently used. This may allow a Java compiler to produce better error messages if these C++ keywords incorrectly appear in programs.


By convention, constants are defined as static and final in uppercase, for example...

static final double MY_PI = 3.14159;

In Java, const and goto are actually reserved words. Currently they have no use.
