Hi everybody,
I am a M.Tech.(Mechanical Engineering) from reputed IIT Delhi.
I completed my Post-graduation way back in 1993 and presently
in a non-programming job.I am learning java and c++ on my own.
I will be writing the SCJP 2.0 shortly. Will Sun certification
give the opportunity to relocate in USA(Pressently in INDIA)?
Is it treated equivalent to 1 year of professional Exp. in some companies?
Also does it make any sense if i get 80+ or 90+? Is it true that 90+ score will be
a plus point for a non-programmer like myself?Pl. help.Thanks in advance.
nm

SCJP certainly helps. But as for getting job in US, I doubt it if you will get a good paying job. I suggest you do SCJP and then get at least 1 yrs expereince in india working on EJB, Servlets, RMI/CORBA, JNDI etc.
Coz Java in isolation does not carry much clout, its the expanded technology on top of Java like EJb which pays up big time.

Hi,
Thanks for your comments.I like to add a few more things.
What about "SCJP treated as one year of professional exp." as
somebody recently said here in this forum. What about a job of
JUNIOR PROGRAMMER with 0-1 year exp.?Well i am learning Servlet,
Jdbc,Javabeans(ON MY OWN AS I AM NON-IT PROFESSIONAL).I don't
have a project experience due to obvious reason. Can creating a few more
Homepages will help me(I have one now mainly HTML based).IS EJB a must?
Which other fields(read topics) will help me to fetch a job in near future in USA?
Thanks, nm
