Hi,
I have posted this question previously. I would appreciate any responses.

I would like to know if any who works in the Boston area would have an idea of what the salary ranges are like. I interviewed with a company out there just recently. I asked for the equivalence of 55k and and the salary calculator gave me a figure of 96K. Are the results of the salary calculator at http://www.homefair.com/index.html realistic. If it is unrealistic then, is there another resource on the web that I can use? I would appreciate some help on this as, the company extended an offer and I am perplexed with the offer and the information on the internet.

You might check the salary tracker at Gamelan:

Dear friend...
Boston is very fun place. Lot of strip bars and chics and fun place. I would compromise a lot if I had got job at Boston.
Thanks

http://gamelan.earthweb.com/salarytracker/salarytracker.html does not seem to work anymore.
Is http://www.pocketinfo.org/sheets/salarytracker.xls the same thing?

Boston, http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000568.html
Although "JAVA, JB, EJB, Web Logic Servers, RMI, Servlet, JDBC, Relational Databases" experience, leadership (management?) and a salary range of "125-140k+bonus+options" seemed a little low to me.

Gamelan.com has totally redesigned their site. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
There's still a salary tracker option on the front page, but the wages are now archived monthly, so the listings are all different.
I found the most recent data at this link:
http://gamelan.earthweb.com/dlink.resource-jhtml.72.1082.|repository| |softwaredev|content|article|2000|09|11|SDsalarytrackerjuly00|SDsalarytrackerjuly00~xml.61.jhtml?cda=true
a little longer than the last one!
As for your other link, that's an excel sheet, no? I couldn't download it through my firewall so I don't know what it looks like.

I looked at what you referred to earlier and the information was pretty good.
I did not see Certification being a part of the figures which was too bad.
When I tried to look at it on someone elses computer, it was gone!
I do not know if it is an IE vs Netscape issue or they changed the page an hour after I looked at it.
Can anyone else see it still?
