Hey; Yes, another newbie seeking some wisdom. I'm looking to change professional gears a little. I have spent the last 4 or so years programming in SAS but I did not get a degree in Computer Science. I have a Master's in Public Health and learned SAS on the job when I began working in clinical drug trial data management. As far as I can tell, the best thing I can do is pass the certification exam and start pounding on doors. Can anyone tell me about how long it took them to successfully prepare for the exam? I know I will have to put in some serious hours but I'd like to get a rough estimate of what the "norm" is. Also, does anyone know how employers look upon the certification? I know this depends on what market you are looking in so let's talk about L.A. Does certification translate into say, 6 months experience or a year? or anything at all? Thanks, Frank
