Self Test 6: Question 1

public class RegexTest {
public static void main(String[] args) {
Pattern p = Pattern.compile("\\d*");
Matcher m = p.matcher("ab34ef");
boolean b = false;
while(b=m.find()){
System.out.println(m.start()+" "+">"+m.group()+"<");
}
}
}

When I run this I get:
0 ><
1 ><
2 >34<
4 ><
5 ><
6 ><

I understand how the other empty strings appear. But why is there a 6th empty string?

The m.start() displays the index right? The indexes are from 0-5, where is the 6th index coming from?
