Hi,

I have recently started preparing for SCJP. I presently work in software deployment+maintenance+support project. Programming, in my case, is limited only upto preparing scripts to automate daily tasks.

I want to switch now to a progaramming project. So to prepare for SCJP, do I need to attend any kind of coaching classes(I have done a "core java" class 2 years back but am not in touch with java since then)? Or can I manage preparing for SCJP on my own?

Actually answer to this question totaly depends on my grasping abilities, however I am expecting some general suggestions/experiances.

Regards,
Nikhil

I was new to Java when I started. I read some basics of Java from internet before start K & B book. I post my doubts on this forum. I am little confident for the exam.
If you did your core Java before 2 years & you are working in Java then you will learn it by yourself as I think. Now it is depend on how much time you are getting for study.
