Has anyone heard about Forte?? I have been working on this technology for the past four years and the hard-to-swallow-news-pill has been the fact that it is moving towards Java and slated for oblivion. ( BTW Forte is now a division of Sun Microsystems. )
I am very curious to know

  • Are you awre of any new developments being planned in Forte?
  • Will there still be demand for Forte skills in the years to come?
  • Is Java the (only )next choice?
  • Anything else you know about Forte. ( I will use this to guage the popularity )

  • Note that I am NOT talking about Forte for Java, which is just an IDE. I am talking about Forte whichis a tool for developing Distributed n-tier OO applications.
    Thanks!
    Ajith
