Hi All,

Question for you - now that I'm an accomplished procatinator (yes, I know that's not correct English), I've decided to take SCJP 1.4. I first decided to take the exam in 2003 but never got round to it.

I've never used Java 5 yet and wanted to find out how easy/difficult it is to upgrade from 1.4 to Java 5.

Thanks for you help.

"Miss Annie" - First, please check your private messages. You can see them by clicking My Profile.

There's quite a difference between Java 1.4 and Java 5; it's the biggest change between two Java versions to date. Have a look at this: New Features and Enhancements - J2SE 5.0. A number of new language features have been added: generics, a new syntax for the for-loop, autoboxing, enums, varargs, annotations and static import. You'll have to learn all those new things then you want to do SCJP 5.

Thanks Jesper.

I guess I'll focus this first hurdle and then take it from there.
