Hi,
I feel, this is very wrong way of book promotion (post as many posts about book). Most of the peoples are posting *waste* just because they want to increase number of post.

Think about it.

I agree that I'd prefer substantive Java/OO questions ... but, don't worry, I'll post some discussion starters myself as the week progresses!

This system has been in place for many years, and it works well. Yes, some people try to abuse the system, but that's why there are sheriffs and bartenders. If we see someone posting a lot of silly things obviously trying to get a lot of entries, we'll talk to them via email or private message. Sometimes we'll close accounts for blatant abuse. Anyway, if you read the rules, you'll see that trivial or pointless questions don't count towards winning the promotion.

I'm moving this to the "JavaRanch" forum, where this discussion belongs, if you want to continue it.
