hi, i'm going into final year, i want to do a project about jini.
i have a idea now, but i don't know if it is suitable to implement by using jini. my idea is using javamail api to build a mail client, and using the IMAP server provided by SUN as a service, and using jini to link them together.
my question is: the service like mail server, it should be always on, then there is pointless to implement it using jini.
want to hear your OPINIONS.

thanks

Your project sounds quite feasible, but to really show the power of Jini, you should set it up to run several instances of your mail 'server', and set up your Jini 'clients' to lookup/discover available servers. Then you should be able to randomly stop/start the servers without affecting the clients.
