This is really much more appropriate to the Jobs Discussion forum, so I've moved it.

The interview process varies a lot from one company to another, but you can usually count on at lease a two step process.
1. The screening interview, frequently conducted by an HR person, tries to find out a bit about you as a person. What management style you like, what kind of experiences you've had with previous employers. How well you communicate and whether you'd be a dependable employee. Most questions will be straight forward but some may be behaviorial questions. The latter simply tries to determine how you'd react to different situations. Don't try to out guess them, just give it your best shot. No harm in thinking about a question for a few moments before answering.
2. The 2nd step would mostlikely be a tech interview with one or more persons. They try to determine the depth of your knowledge on the skills required for the job.
Good Luck

Amol Bhangey:
Here are some links that will help to in both Part I (managerial/people skills) and in Part II (technical) of the interview process.
I assume you are interviewing in USA? If so, both parts of the interview are equally important. If you do well on the managerial interview - you might just get out of doing the technical interview. It happens.
Let us know what happens - your impressions of the interview, and knowledge gained from the experience. Also, do not get discouraged in it does not work out - use the interview as a learning experience.
---------
Here are the links: Make sure you scroll down through all the
messages. Some are managerial some are technical.

the links use the old javaranch URL format. You can easily view the pages by replacing 000353 in your URL Address bar with 000321, 000318, and 000304 so that it complies with the newer URL format.
