Ho do i start Preaparing for SCJP1.5 Certification?

Hi friends I am new memeber in Javaranch. I am currently preparing SCJP 1.5. i want some guidelines 1) How much time or many days it will take to prepare SCJP? 2)How many hours should i devote a day as i want to clear my certification within a month? Also i am free have no other job to do ? 3)IS K&B book sufficient for SCJP 1.5 as i want to score above 95%? 4)Do i have to refer some more stuffs? if yes thn can you tell me from where do i get more resources to practice and get a gud command on it ? 5)Will SCJP certification help me to get in good job with a good package ? 6)i got 10 pdf files covering course of SCJP as stated in books and is used by one of my frnd who cleared SCJP1.5 recently ? so now m confused which book to study K&B or these pdf files.? as i ahve already finished 5 chapters from pdf files. ? I am confused ?? please tell me more about K&B book ? is it right book to follow for SCJP1.5 ? waiting for your response please clear my doubts ?

Welcome to JavaRanch. First of all, have a look at our SCJP FAQ, where you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the SCJP exam. You can find the link to it in my signature below.

How much time it will take you is hard to say, because it depends on your experience with programming and Java. Obviously, if you are totally new to Java, it will take you more effort then when you already have some experience.

The K&B book covers everything you need to know for the SCJP exam. If you score well on the tests in that book, then you can be confident that you'll score well on the exam. Ofcourse there are many more resources than just the K&B book; there are also other books and you can find free or paid-for mock exams on Internet. See the SCJP FAQ for more information.

Ofcourse you're welcome to ask questions here on JavaRanch or browse through the forums here, where you'll find lots of discussions on the topics you'll need to learn for the SCJP exam.
