Does any one know how the java 5 exams differes from java 6.
A quick scan of the suned pages for each exam seems to have about the same coverage.

I will be giving a SCJP study group at work. Since 6 is new and there are no study material, I am wondering if the scjp5 study books will be good enough for the 6 exam.

Based on that discussion, I suppose it would be more worthwhile to go for the 1.6 version, since Sun is now providing vouchers for this exam. I recently bought both of Kathy and Bert's books(Head First, SCJP Study guide) which are both for version 1.5. But with a little more careful observation of the changes between the two exams, following the objectives would be highly beneficial and then I would just shoot for the 1.6. Going for the 1.5, then taking an upgrade to 1.6 just seems like a waste of money to me.. but that's just me.

I actually have my scjp 5 so the upgrade is fine for me. However I am mentoring several developers for thier SCJP at work. It makes more sense for me to have them prepare for 6 instead of 5.

Since there is no SCJP6 study material.... Looks like I'll have them study for 5 then at the end try to find and teach the differences.

Well then I can test for my upgrade, and they can test for SCJP6

Thats great idea. scjp 1.6 has very little difference from scjp 1.5.
