I noticed I won a book (back in January) when by I decided to google my name. I never saw/recieved any other notification nor do I have a clue as to how I'm supposed to actually recieve the book (or if the book is even published yet). I'm just curious as to how/when I'll recieve it.

Hi,

Not a silly question at all. The thread that announces the winners should always contains instructions regarding how to receive the book. Basically, you have to send us your mailing address and other information. Here is a recent thread in which Tom was trying to help past winners who never received books -- it tells you exactly what information to send, and to whom.

Now, I just checked the list of past winners, and you won a book back in January, which is a relatively long time ago. I can't guarantee that if you send your information in now, you'll still be able to get the book -- but it's worth a try.

Yeah, I saw the threads right after I posted, though I didn't see that particular one (thanks for the link).

I'd really like the book (hey free stuff is almost always good) but I can't really gripe if I don't get free stuff yanno.

The instructions are all on our book promotion page:

http://www.javaranch.com/bookpromo.jsp

As it says, you must notify us within 30 days. At this point it has been much longer than that and I don't even know who our contacts at brainysoftware are. So I wouldn't hold my breath but I will see what I can do.

You showed up just in time for the waffles! And this tiny ad:
