Hi,
I am facing a problem in using a JNI code in UNIX enviornment .Iam using the JNI code in separateclass and calling the methods of that bean from JSP file. I am using
Tomcat server in unix. The problem which Iam facing here is the JSP file could not find the .class file lying in WEB-INF/classes directory of the Tomcatserver. At the same time it is getting other beans( classes ) lying in WEB-INF/classes/poolset directory of tomcat server where Iam calling classes from JSP file ( as useBean class="poolset.class file name") where
'poolset' is the package for the java files. If I am putting .class file for JNI in 'poolset' directory by giving
the package name for the java file as same, it is able to find the class file but not able to find .c file( giving an exception) where the implementation for native method is given as I can not give a package name for the .c file.
In brief, Iam able to make .so file by compiling .java, .c files in sun solaris2.6(sparc)and it is running well from UNIX prompt. What should I do for calling the JNI from JSP and what are the setting to done(Eg.LD_LIBRARY_PATH,CLASSPATH......)
Can anybody please provide me an explanation for implemeneting the same .

Regards,
Chandrabose B

"Chandrabose",
The Java Ranch has thousands of visitors every week, many with surprisingly similar names. To avoid confusion we have a naming convention, described at http://www.javaranch.com/name.jsp . We require names to have at least two words, separated by a space, and strongly recommend that you use your full real name. Please log in with a new name which meets the requirements.
Thanks.
