hi i came to US last year mainly with java knowledge, and did one projext in that. till date iam mainly focussing on java only. i've cleared scjp, and also part 1 of scea. but right now iam not sure whats going to happen as most people are saying that java is going to be no more. can somebody tell me what exactly is the truth. thanks.
Seetarama Raju: Please look under the "Java is Dead" articles on this forum. We have discussed this topic several times in the past three months. What you are seeing - is a slow market - across the entire IT skill set. Given your name - I assume you are an H1B holder. When the market gets slow - it's going to be the foreign workers who feel the pressure most. Especially those with more junior level skills. John Coxey (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Are any of the people who say that java is going to be "no more" saying what is going to replace it? I am just curious. I have seen many big companies in NYC who are switching to "Java Only" development even now. But then again it a topic for "is Java Dead" discussion. I don't believe that it is.
