Hi,

I've SCJP certification on Java 2 platform. I'm planning to go for an upgrade exam for Java 6 platform. I wanted to know if I can take just the upgrade exam. Is the upgrade exam different from the Java 6 platform new certification?

Thanks,
Sharad

Hey Sharad,

You can directly go for Java 6 upgrade exam..You will be tested on the newer topics only when you go for an upgrade.

I'm not sure about that. I remember someone saying that you would not be tested only on new topics.

From experience - no, they test you only on the newer topics. (It would be easier if it included all of the questions. )

If you have SCJP5, and you upgrade to 6, will you really have Java6 only questions ? How can they make up 48 questions with so few chanegs ? The Upgrade exam objectives are not made of new stuff only, are they ? If other rancher who took the upgrade could confirm...

You can take an upgrade exam, only if you are already certified with any previous version. That means to take SCJP 6 upgrade exam, you need to be certified with CX310-025, 310-035, or 310-055 exam. As far as questions are concerned, you can check the Sunwebsite for testing objectives.
