I'm working for a s/w company in B'lore in Java.The company is laying off employees as it's not getting any Java projects.I'm a fresher & just has 6 months experience.I'm comfortable with JSP.I'm worried....Can u help me by letting me know about Java openings?

Thanks for the reply.I've applied to it & still waiting for the reply:-( Heard that there was a walk-in but by the time I went it was late.
Do keep me informed of any other openings?Hey!Tell me if it is worth shifting to other technology?

looks like you have to hold on for a month/so for Oracle tests.
Just came to know that they had some tests in C/C++ and Java stuff w'd be held later.
As for changing your line, it depends upon your undergrad/grad major.
If you are serious then u have to change quickly before you are branded as an "application developer". So you have that advantage of not having spent much time doing java ( i guess 6 months that's what u said) :-).
If you have "strong" C++/C fundamentals , s'd'nt be a problem.
But i guess you do appreciate the fact that the market is really down now. As i said the major is important here.
