I had a question and needed advice on how to do the following task?
is there are correlation API? i know that there is one for Convolution in image processing?
- well the thing is i wanted to do the following.
- Lets say that i have 2 colored images ( left and right ) that have a 50-60% overlap
- I have choosen a point in the first image.
- and I have choosen an area ( 10 x 10 pixels ) in the second
image that cointains the point choosen in the first image.
- well what i want the correlation fuction to do is to
- construct a 3x3 Kernal from the first point in the left image using the rgb values
- and parse that kernal through the area that was picked in the in the second image.
- at each parse point the kernal will multiply its values
with the 9 values in that area.
- This value is subtracted from the square of the kernal values with the reasoing that the point that has the most similar RGB values in the second image after the subtraction will be close to zero.
but this doesnt work. I have tried to normailize the pictures, grayscale them, run an edge detect on them and then do the parsing, but it doesn't come close to the actual point.
I was wondering if any one had ideas/advice to point me in the right direction.
