Encryption using JCE ?!  RSS feed

Hi
am newbie to java-security-classes ,
after reading all the documentation ,i have written a simple program
to encrypt/decrypt plain-text input using DES algorithm
i have downloaded JCE also
my program gets compiled OK , but when i run it i get a error message
" java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException : Algorithm DES not available "
I guess , i haven't been able to install JCE properly
Please help , i am stuck into this
and if someone can point me to information about
these user authentication , certificates , n cryptography feauters
in lucid-language , coz i am new to all these things
I 'll appericiate ur help , thankx for taking interest in my problem

I haven't kept up with the JCA (the original, crypt JCA, that is :-), but when it was fist introduced the APIs were only that, APIs; you also needed to get a a crypto implementation that had implementations of a particular algorithm. Try http://www.bouncycastle.org or http://www.cryptix.org .
